CCA Launches New Project on Connected and Automated Vehicles and Shared Mobility

The Council of Canadian Academies (CCA) is pleased to announce that it has been asked by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) to examine current trends affecting the evolution of connected and automated vehicle technologies and shared mobility, as well as the impacts, opportunities, and challenges they present for Canadian industry, governments, and Canadians more broadly.

The automotive industry is experiencing a period of unprecedented change. Consumer preferences and trends toward efficiency, safety, and convenience are driving advancements in vehicle technologies, particularly in the area of connected and automated vehicles. These trends in advanced technologies, as well as shared mobility, will have a major impact on the future of transportation.
