From 1999 to 2008 Bob Friesen represented farmers from various provinces and commodity sectors as President of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA).

Mr. Friesen served as CFA Vice-President and Chair of the CFA Trade Committee. He was also the past Vice-President of the International Federation of Agricultural Producers, where he promoted the interests of primary producers globally. Mr. Friesen has represented the interests of Canadian producers in international trade talks with the Cairns Group and the World Trade Organization.

In his home province of Manitoba, Mr. Friesen has served as Director and Chair of the Manitoba Turkey Board, and was Director, Executive Member and Chair at the Canadian Turkey Marketing Agency to represent the producers of Manitoba. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Manitoba Agricultural Credit Corporation where he provided a producer’s perspective.
