Mr. Guthrie Stewart joined EdgeStone as a Partner in October 2001 with more than 20 years of experience in executive management and corporate development.

From 1992 until 2000, he held various executive positions within the Teleglobe Group including President and Chief Executive Officer of Teleglobe Canada Inc., Canada’s leading international telecommunications carrier; Executive Vice President, Global Development for Teleglobe Inc.; and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Teleglobe Media Enterprises. Prior to joining Teleglobe, Mr. Stewart was a founding officer of BCE Mobile Communications Inc., formed in 1987 as Canada’s leading diversified wireless communications company. He began his career in corporate law with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt in Toronto.

Mr. Stewart has served on a number of boards of directors, including MRRM (Dainty Rice), BreconRidge Manufacturing Solutions, Eurospec Manufacturing and Tooling, Mitel Networks and New Food Classics. He has also frequently acted as a director or advisor to emerging technology companies.

Mr. Stewart studied undergraduate science at Queen’s University in Kingston and is a graduate of law from Osgoode Hall in Toronto and the MBA program at INSEAD in Europe. Guthrie is a member of the Foundation Board of the YMCA of Montréal and has served as a member of the Executive of the Quebec Chamber of Commerce as well as the Boards of the Douglas and Ste. Justine Hospitals of Montréal. He is also an Adjunct Professor and member of the Faculty Advisory Board at the Desautels Faculty of Management of McGill University.
