Jasmin Bhawra, PhD, is the Director of the CHANGE Research Lab, and an Assistant Professor in the School of Occupational and Public Health at Toronto Metropolitan University. As an interdisciplinary global health scientist, Dr. Bhawra applies digital citizen science across international jurisdictions to co-create solutions for public health crises such as climate change, food insecurity, and mental health. Dr. Bhawra also pioneers digital literacy program development and implementation in partnership with underserved communities both within Canada and internationally.

Beyond academic research, Dr. Bhawra leads the CHANGE Research Lab in advocating for the health of vulnerable populations globally. Currently, as part of the Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance – an organization that advances children’s physical activity across 67 countries – she leads the development of the India Report Cards on Physical Activity for Children and Youth. As part of this work, she co-founded a not-for-profit organization that advocates for active living research and practice among Indian children and youth.
