John Nyboer is a Research Associate and Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University’s School of Resource and Environmental Management. In this capacity, he acts as the Executive Director of the Energy and Materials Research Group (EMRG) and the Canadian Industrial Energy End-use Data and Analysis Centre (CIEEDAC) and frequently presents the outcomes of work done by CIEEDAC in Canada and abroad. Dr. Nyboer currently serves on the National Advisory Council on Energy Efficiency, an advisory committee designed to help the Office of Energy Efficiency of Natural Resources Canada develop and review policies.

Dr. Nyboer is the author of numerous articles and reports on climate policy, and was a co-author of The Cost of Climate Policy, which was recognized with the Best Policy Book in Canada Award from the National Policy Research Initiative. It was also short-listed for the Donner Award for best policy book in Canada in 2002.

Dr. Nyboer holds a PhD in Resource and Environmental Management and a Master of Resource Management from Simon Fraser University in addition to a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Alberta, and a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto.
