Jacqueline Littlewood is the Director of Research Security at the University of Alberta where she has led the university’s Safeguarding Research Office since August 2023. Jacqueline was previously an analyst and advisor in various positions with the Government of Canada during a 20-year career as a public servant.

During her time with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Jacqueline was responsible for nuclear and nuclear dual-use licensing, export controls, counter-proliferation, and non-proliferation. At the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, she contributed to the development of policy and legislation, operational compliance, and stakeholder engagement.

Jacqueline received an MA in International Affairs from Carleton University and a BA from the University of Calgary. Prior to joining the public service, Jacqueline worked as a researcher with the Bonn International Centre for Conversion, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, and the United Nations in Geneva.
