Council of Canadian Academies Welcomes New Board of Governors Member

OTTAWA (July 28, 2015) – The Council of Canadian Academies is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard J. Marceau, FCAE, Vice President (Research) at Memorial University of Newfoundland, to its Board of Governors.

Dr. Marceau brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Board,” said Margaret Bloodworth, C.M., Chair of the Board of Governors. “We are very pleased with his appointment and we look forward to his contributions in the near future.”

Dr. Marceau has served as Chair of the Electrical Engineering Department at École Polytechnique de Montréal, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the Université de Sherbrooke, and Provost and Vice-President Academic of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). Prior to his work in academia, Dr. Marceau spent a number of years working in industry for MONENCO Inc. and Hydro-Québec. He is also past President of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and a registered Professional Engineer in Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, and Quebec.
