Alain Tremblay has been at Hydro-Québec for more than 20 years where he is currently Senior Environmental Advisor on aquatic ecosystems.

Dr Tremblay has published over 50 peer reviewed publications on the ecology and cycling of lakes and reservoirs located in boreal regions of Canada. He has developed an expertise on greenhouse gas emissions measurements and processes within Hydro-Québec but also via multiple collaborations with universities such as the Université du Québec à Montréal (CARBAS Chair). His expertise on the impacts of hydroelectric reservoirs on the landscape (flooding, metal cycling and carbon emissions) has advanced the scientific knowledge on freshwater systems and provided science-based evidence on the management of these ecosystems.

Dr. Tremblay received a PhD in Environmental Science from Université du Québec à Montréal, and a Master of Science in Oceanography from l’Université du Québec à Rimouski.
