André Marcheterre has a long and distinguished history in the pharmaceutical industry. He began with Merck Frosst Canada in 1977, filling positions of increasing responsibilities in the areas of sales, marketing and government relations. In 1995, he was named Vice-President of the Mid-Atlantic Region, part of the U.S. Human Health division. Two years later, in December 1996, he returned to Canada as President of Merck Frosst Canada, a position he held until September 2006.
Mr. Marcheterre played a leading role in Canada’s Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (RX&D) where he served as a member of the Québec Regional Committee, the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. He chaired the Board of Directors for two terms.
Currently, Mr. Marcheterre is a Director on the Boards of Genome Canada, Montréal International, and the Yacht Club Montreal. He also supports different organizations involved in life sciences at the municipal, provincial, and national level.
