Christine Chan is currently Canada Research Chair Tier 1 in Energy and Environmental Informatics and Professor of Engineering in Software Systems Engineering Program at the University of Regina. Dr. Chan received M.Sc. degrees in computer science and management information systems from the University of British Columbia, and the doctorate degree in Applied Sciences from Simon Fraser University in 1992.
She joined the University of Regina as an assistant professor in 1993 and was previously Professor of Computer Science. In 1995, Dr. Chan founded the Energy Informatics Laboratory (EIL), where the principal research objective is to conduct and promote R&D in applications of artificial intelligence and knowledge-based system technologies for problem solving in the energy, natural resources, and environmental sectors.
Dr. Chan is an associate member of the Laboratory of Theoretical and Experimental Philosophy at Simon Fraser University, and also an adjunct scientist of Telecommunications Research Laboratories. She is also editor of several international journals.
