Claudia Wagner-Riddle

Claudia Wagner-Riddle is a Professor in the School of Environmental Sciences, University of Guelph. Originally from Brazil, she has degrees from the University of São Paulo and the University of Guelph. Dr. Wagner-Riddle is an expert in application of micrometeorological flux techniques to measure greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) from agriculture. Her research aims to better understanding the processes that lead to GHG emissions and carbon sequestration, and hence, decrease the carbon footprint of food production. Claudia Wagner-Riddle is Executive Co-Director of the Soils at Guelph initiative. She is also a Fellow of the Soil Science Society of America, the American Meteorological Society, and of the Canadian Society of Agricultural and Forest Meteorology. She is Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Agricultural and Forest Meteorology and leads a nation-wide training program on Climate-Smart Soils. Dr. Wagner-Riddle was recently appointed Director of the North American regional chapter of the International Nitrogen Initiative and was awarded the 2020 IFA Borlaug Award of Excellence in Crop Nutrition. Dr. Wagner-Riddle has published more than150 papers and has an h-index of 41 (Google Scholar).
