Robert Luke

Dr. Robert Luke is Vice-President of research and innovation for OCAD University. He is responsible for the strategic leadership, implementation and expansion of the university’s research and research­creation capacity, including its research infrastructure and the development of academic business and incubation initiatives.

With over 15 years of experience working in progressive and growth-oriented academic environments, Dr. Luke is a recognized leader in research, innovation and research administration. Dr. Luke holds a PhD from the University of Toronto, and an MA from Queen’s University. He maintains an active research program in participatory innovation design and the human-­centred design of innovative technologies in education and healthcare.

Dr. Luke is a member of the Toronto Foundation Toronto’s Vital Signs advisory group, and served as the inaugural chair of the advisory board for the Technology Access Centres Network. Previously, he was a member of the Council of Canadian Academies’ Expert Panel on the State of Science and Technology in Canada. In 2012, Luke was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contributions to Canadian education and innovation.
