Ronald Woodward

Mr. Ron Woodward is the President of Clockbuilder Consulting, Ltd. and President Emeritus at Red Deer College in Alberta. Through Clockbuilder Consulting Mr. Woodward works with a variety of leaders and organizations to support them in their pursuit of excellence. Prior to his consulting work, Mr. Woodward was the President and CEO of Red Deer College in Alberta from 1998 to 2009. Mr. Woodward was also the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Saskatchewan Research Council from 1995 to 1998, where he oversaw the corporation’s business, with a focus on resource sectors, including energy, mining and agriculture, utilizing a wide variety of information technology, biotechnology, manufacturing, transportation, and small business sectors. From 1992 to 1995 Mr. Woodward was the President and CEO of the Science Council of British Columbia.

In addition, Mr. Woodward was the Assistant Deputy Minister for Science and Technology (1987 to 1992), and the Policy Advisor to the Minister of Advanced Education, Training and Technology in British Columbia (1986 to 1987). In all of his positions, Mr. Woodward was a part of a senior management team that was responsible for the total operation of the organization or system. This involved leadership, policy and program development and implementation, financial planning and management, personnel management and other activities related to the efficient and effective operation of the organizations.

Mr. Woodward sits on a number of boards and committees including, the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC), Transferability, Articulation and Pathways Committee; the Pan Canadian Consortium on Admissions and Transfer (member since 2008 and co-chair since 2010); Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer (chair since 2007); and the Canadian Environmental Technology Advancement Corporations (CETAC West) (board member and chair since 1997). He has previously chaired the ACCC Research and Innovation Committee and served as a board member and Vice-Chair of the Alberta Research Council.

Mr. Woodward received his BEd from the University of Alberta (1967), and a Graduate Diploma (1976) and M. Ed (1987) from the University of Saskatchewan. Mr. Woodward is actively involved in community service and speaks regularly at conferences, professional and education groups, community organizations, and events.
