Sara Jane Snook is a professional engineer with over 25 years of experience in energy development and environmental regulation. She is a Director of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and a member of the International Women’s Forum.
Ms. Snook is a former Deputy Minister at the Nova Scotia Department of Environment where she was involved in the development of policy to prepare for the effects of climate change and to limit greenhouse gas emissions. She is a former board member of the National Energy Board and of the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board. Earlier in her career she held engineering positions at a large multinational oil company and in the Nova Scotia provincial government.
Ms. Snook is a member of Engineers Nova Scotia, the Alberta Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Institute of Corporate Directors. She holds a Bachelor and Master of Engineering from Dalhousie University, as well as a Management Development Certificate from the University of Calgary.
