In 2020, Detective/Cst. Shannon Parker was nationally recognized as one of the top 20 STEM leaders in Canada: Canadian Women leading the way.

She is the Chair of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police E-Crimes Cyber Council and a member of the Canadian National Policing Services Cybercrime Committee. She is head of the Canadian delegation on the North American Cyber Classification Compendium Project (NACCC).

In 2019, she represented Canada and presented at the International Europol Cybersecurity Conference in The Hague, Netherlands on: Organizational Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Strategies. She has presented on many Cyber and Digital Forensics topics at several conferences and organizations over the years.

She is the Director of Cyber Strategy and Risk Advisory at Deloitte Canada. Previously, she worked at the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) in the Technological Crimes Unit supporting all SPS members with their cyber and cyber security investigations. She is an International Association of Computer Investigation Specialists Certified Forensic Computer Examiner and is certified in Cryptocurrency Trace Analysis. She recently completed several years with the Provincial Internet Child Exploitation Unit as a Digital Forensics Examiner. Shannon has been deemed a forensic computer expert in both Provincial and Queens Bench courts.

She has created a Cybercrime, Cybersecurity and OSINT Investigators Course, and is also an author, and has written articles for both the Canadian and MB Chiefs of Police magazines: Cryptocurrency; Advances in Technology and Operational Readiness, and: NACCC: a Cyber Resource. She also authored an extensive 300-page SPS Report Writing and Court Preparation Reference Manual and won a Superintendents Award for the creation of the SPS Alternative Measures Program. She is also the Chairperson for the SPS Cops for Cancer Program.

Before a career in law enforcement, she was a high school mathematics teacher, where she helped enrich and Indigenize English and Math curriculums and also designed, created and implemented two different Youth Engagement Programs.
