Enhancing Canada’s National Research Infrastructure

Summary

Research infrastructure is an essential part of Canada’s science and innovation ecosystem, and supports a broad range of national priorities. Together, Canada’s national-scale scientific facilities, digital platforms, and collaborative networks, provide a critical foundation for the future of scientific research, innovation, economic prosperity, and the well-being of all people in Canada.

This assessment will evaluate strategies for enhancing Canada’s national research infrastructure to support the future of Canadian science and innovation. The expert panel’s report will review the strengths and weaknesses of Canada’s current research infrastructure portfolio, best practices in infrastructure planning and development, and the strategic factors that might support responses to future challenges and opportunities.
